Day 12 Doolin to Howth Head

After leaving the accommodation we headed for Lisdoonvarna as Paul wanted to buy some items he had seen earlier in the week.  However the shop did not open for another 50 minutes so we headed on towards Ballyvaughan along the Corkscrew Hill route.  We stopped at the viewpoint for a few minutes.

We then took the scenic route to Galway and had a couple of hours looking around this very lively city.  We could easily have stayed much longer.

We took the M6 motorway towards Dublin and stopped for lunch at Clontuskert Augustinian Friary,  a few kms from one of the junctions.  I walked up to the Friary but it was along a very muddy farm track and my trainers were thick with mud so I had to change them.

We continuted towards Dublin, stopping off at a service station where we had a McDonalds McFlurry.  The drive into Dublin was very slow and it was about 5 before we got to our hotel on Howth Head.  It was very sunny and warm so we went for a walk around the harbour area where we watched a sailing race.

We had dinner at a local restaurant.  Steph and Chris, who were staying nearby, came to join us at our hotel for a drink.
